Continuing down the road, I revved up from Buena Vista to Montrose, tracing the contours of the renowned Highway 50. It’s the Million Dollar Highway, with towering peaks encircling me and awe-inspiring canyons carving the path.

The day ended in Montrose, where a budget-friendly motel offered a comfy refuge. A hearty meal at a local diner refueled us for the upcoming ventures. The people in town are more than willing to help a weary traveler.

The local Ace Hardware manager ensured I had everything I needed. They gave me a paperclip from the office, so I didn’t have to spend any money on a tool for my phone (more about that in another blog).

The second day of my journey saw me zipping from Montrose to the awe-inspiring expanse of Page, Arizona. Along the transformative stretch of Highway 163, I swapped Colorado’s majestic mountains for desert vistas that sparkled in the sunlight.
