Twenty years. That’s how long I’ve been eating at La Pasadita Inn.
Tucked onto its own little island at 1959 Park Ave W in Denver, surrounded by roads on every side, this unpretentious spot has been serving traditional Mexican food to the neighborhood for decades.
In two decades of visits, very little has changed. And that is exactly the point.
This place rocks. Let me tell you why.
The Charm of Staying the Same
Restaurants love to reinvent themselves. New menus, new concepts, new decor every few years.
La Pasadita Inn does none of that, and it’s one of the best things about it. The welcoming feel, the patio, the traditional entrees — it’s all still here, still done right.

I don’t say this lightly: La Pasadita Inn has the best shredded beef tacos in Denver.
I’ve eaten Mexican food all over this city, and nothing else comes close. Tender, flavorful, authentic — the kind of taco that ends the debate before it starts.
If it’s your first visit and you only order one thing, make it this.
Chips, Salsa, and Everything Else
The chips and salsa are great, and that matters more than people admit. It’s the first thing on the table and it sets the tone for the whole meal.
Here, the tone is set right every time.
My usual order is the tamale plate, but honestly, I mix it up now and then because everything on the menu is good. That’s a rare thing to be able to say about any restaurant.
